“Making it Through the Holidays” Community Grief Seminar

Monday, November 23 – 7 to 8 p.m.New Paul Johnson Picture

Strike Funeral Home
Cambridge Chapel
720 E 1st Ave, Cambridge

Facing the holidays as a grieving individual can be both overwhelming and seemingly impossible to deal with. We would like to invite all families to share in an evening program designed to give practical suggestions on how to cope with the additional stresses  of the holiday season.

The seminar will be held by Paul Johnson, nationally known speaker on grief issues and former faculty member of Bethel University. A special Christmas tree ornament in memory of your loved one will also be available for those who pre-register. We will provide one remembrance ornament in memory of each loved one whose family we have served the past year and to other families who pre-register by November 14. An ornament is available in memory of each loved one even if your family was not served by our funeral home. Additional ornaments will be available through early December.

To pre-register for this 15th annual seminar and order the Christmas tree ornament in memory of your loved one, call Hugo or Brian at 763-689-2070 in Cambridge or 763-444-5212 in Isanti.

by Doug Manning

In long-term care, the caregiver can become overwhelmed and tired with very little opportunity to realize or reconcile the gradual losses that take place. This takes a toll on the caregiver, the family and the patient. Doug Manning outlines these issues and gently provides opportunities for the caregiver to deal with the “quiet sorrows” that make this type of caregiving a difficult task.
