Marian Blumer, age 90, of Cambridge died May 11, 2015 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 15th at Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. David Gerhardt officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday and also from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 14th at Strike Funeral Home – ISANTI Chapel.
Marian Hazel Blumer was born February 9, 1925 in Minneapolis to Arthur and Hazel Nell (Snow) O’Neil. She was raised in the Minneapolis area and graduated from North High School. On August 22, 1943 she married Melvin Blumer. After Melvin’s discharge from the Army, they returned to Minnesota. They moved to Greenbush in 1948. In 1957 they moved their family to Isanti where they spent the remainder of their married life. Marian was a people person and there were no strangers, only friends she never met.
Marian is survived by 4 sons, Tom (Margaret) Blumer, Mike (Linda) Blumer, Raymond (Pattie) Blumer, Ellard (Mavis Bumgarner) Blumer; daughter, Nell Coyer; daughter-in-law, Suki Blumer; son-in-law, Randy Halverson; 30 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Marian died May 11, 2015 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 90 years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin in 1987; 4 children, John, Mary, Connie, Melvin, Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Tammy and Teri Lynn; 1 great-grandson, Jacob; special friend, Butler Garrison; 3 brothers; 1 sister.
