Phyllis Jean Stewart was born April 7, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Karl and Mae (Nelson) Thompson. She was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Phyllis worked at White Castle and met David, a co-worker, there. They soon dated and were married November 29, 1958. They made their home in Minneapolis and raised four children, Dale, Penny, Deborah and Peggy. In 1971 they moved to the Green Lake area and then to Cambridge. Phyllis was a long time employee at Land O Lakes in Dalbo and later retired from the State of Minnesota as a Human Service Technician.
Phyllis enjoyed her flowers, watching birds, horses and her pets. She especially loved being with family and watching her grandchildren. Phyllis also enjoyed socializing in many ways, even playing a game of poker now and then. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her four children, Dale, Penny, Deborah and Peggy; six grandchildren, Patrick, Elizabeth, Kayla, Danielle, Ashley and Nicole; four great-grandchildren, Eelan, Byron, Brayden and Ava; and her former husband, David; and by many other close relatives and friends.

I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. I worked with Phyllis for years at the group home. She always made it enjoyable on our shifts together. I know Phyllis lost her mother a short time ago and again I am so sorry. Please believe that they are once again together.

I also worked with Phyllis at the group home ( Evergreen). She was very enjoyable to work with. I remember her talking about her family and how proud she was of them all. She also was so proud of her yard at her home and loved to show it off to friends and family. She will be greatly missed.
