Sherman Poff, age 56, of Coffeyville, Kansas and formerly of Isanti died April 26, 2013 after a three and half year battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 18th at Country Roads Church in rural Stacy. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 – 7 PM on Friday, May 17th also at Country Roads Church.
Sherman Ray Poff was born March 6, 1957 in Minneapolis to Floyd and Lorraine Poff. He moved with his family to Isanti when he was 2 years old. Sherman was the youngest of 4 children. He graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1976. Following graduation he worked at the Charcoal Plant in Isanti and then worked at Hoffman Engineering for 26 years. Sherman was proud of his 3 children, Shannon, Matt and Fallon Poff and grandchildren, Megan, Josh, Brooklyn, Shawna and Preston.
In 2004 Sherman married Lynn, “the love of his life”. They moved to Kansas in 2007 to be near Lynn’s daughter and family. Sherm loved collecting and polishing rocks, country music, John Wayne and his cowboy hats!
Sherman died April 26, 2013 in Coffeyville, Kansas after a three and a half year battle with cancer at the age of 56 years, 1 month and 20 days. Sherman was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Celia Poff and Oscar and Martha Dahlberg.
He is survived by his parents, Floyd and Lorraine Poff; wife, Lynn; sons, Shannon (Jenny) Poff, Matt (Jessica) Poff; daughter, Fallon (Shawn) Poff; grandchildren, Megan, Joshua, Brooklyn, Shawna and Preston; siblings, Steve Poff, Kathy (Doug) Nelson, Keven (Margaret) Poff; nieces and nephews, Julie (Nelson) and Andy Greeler, Danielle (Poff) and Ken Feuch, Edwain Poff. Sherman is also survived by his in-laws, Richard (Alice) Srnsky; son and daughter-in-law, Rick (Angie) Kreager; brother-in-law, Rick (Cheryl) Srnsky and daughter Jennifer; brother-in-law, Kal (Lori) Srnsky and daughter Courtney Srnsky; sister-in-law, Lisa McEarchern and children, Ryan, Danny and Megan; grandchildren, Tyler, Harley and Paige.
