Richard Edwards, age 78, of Isanti died August 11, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 16th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Rev. Darren Sedler officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 15th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Richard Harold Edwards was born June 7, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph and Grace Edwards. When he was young his family moved to the midwest where he was raised and he graduated from Winthrop High School. Richard served in the Navy during the Korean War. After the service he moved to Minneapolis. In June of 1987 he married Anna Ford and they made their home on Long Lake in rural Isanti. Richard was employed by Honeywell/Alliant Tech for 37 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the American Legion in St. Francis. He was a sports fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR, football and golf on television. He also enjoyed bowling and target shooting. 

Richard passed away August 11, 2010 at his home at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 4 days.

Richard is survived by his wife, Anna of Isanti; six children, Lori Halliday of St. Croix Beach, Michael Edwards of Champlin, Jill (Dave) Kopel of Minneapolis, Randy Ford of Columbia Heights, Scott (Joan) Ford of Blaine, Lynne (Brian) Gygi of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy (Don) Moerke of Saulk Center, Judith (Barry) Becker of Long Beach, California; and by many other relatives and friends.
