Thursday, August 12th at Bethel Community Church with Rev. Michael Sullivan officiating.  Memorials are suggested to the church or the Alzhiemer’s Association.

Lee Gerrit Slothouber was born August 8, 1935 in Sheldon, Iowa, to Gerrit and Elizabeth Florence Slothouber. When Lee was 5 years old his family moved to Menahga, Minnesota where he was raised and attended school. After school he moved to Minneapolis and at the age of 17 began working for B.F. Nelson Company which became Certain-teed Manufacturing in Shakopee. Lee retired after working 34 years for them. Lee married June Ford on June 19, 1954 in Pine City. They made their home in Coon Rapids and then moved to Cedar where they have lived for many years. Lee especially loved his grandchildren and all of the family activities. He also enjoyed music and dancing, fishing and hunting.

Lee passed away on his birthday, August 8, 2010, at Comforts of Home Assisted Living in Blaine at the age of 75 years.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Tim; brother, John; and sister, Jaye. Lee is survived by his wife, June of Cedar; four daughters, Roxanne (Al) Hemming of Hinckley, Leanne (John) Freyberger of Dysart, Iowa, Terianne (Steven) Shrigley of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, Lorianne (Chris) Pendergrass of Stacy; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends.
