In Memory of Leroy Fiene
Leroy Fiene, age 68, of Isanti died June 8, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM Thursday, June 10th at Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. David Gerhardt officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, June 9th at Strike Funeral Home – ISANTI Chapel and also one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Leroy Edward Fiene was born August 29, 1941 at Columbus, Minnesota to Floyd and Lydia Fiene. He was raised at Taylors Falls and graduated from Taylors Falls High School, Class of 1959. Leroy then served in the Navy from 1960 – 1964. After his military service he went to meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio. Leroy then came to Isanti and worked at Dalen’s Food Store in Isanti and has worked in retail meat since that time. On February 3, 1968 he married Faye and they made their home in Isanti. Leroy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge. His greatest joy was his family and being Grandpa to the children. He also enjoyed bowling, throwing horse shoes and fishing.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Kenneth and Myles; and by1 sister, Donna Hillstrom. Leroy is survived by his wife, Faye of Isanti; 3 children, Robert (Amy) Owen of Alread, Arkansas, Richard Fiene of Isanti and Robin Fiene of Cambridge; 12, grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Lorraine Robinson of St. Croix Falls; 1 brother, Robert (Mary) Fiene of Chisago City; and by many other relatives and friends.
We will miss seeing LeRoy. He was always so friendly and helpful. Our prayers are being said for his friends and family.

i remeber when i was there or four i would go in to the market with my parenents and we would go to see leroy and he would always give me ballons.
my fondest memories of leroy would be standing in line at the market even though other available meatcutters were not busy i would wait my turn for leroy wait on me so i could ask him how is grandchildren were doing and we would chat and he would ask me how my child was doing.i like leroy because he knew all is costmers by there first name he will be missed greatly.
leroy you are greatly missed by many everywhere i will always remember when i was little you sneak me behind the meat counter at reichals and sneak me a beef stick i miss those days and ill miss you and as many others rest in peace leroy see you soon buddy :)
It was a great honor to have a father that was so kind and so gentle. He was so loved by many. I was at the Bible Bookstore today looking at books about Heaven and I heard a man talking about dad. It was incredibly bittersweet. We miss you, dad. The girls and I have spent the day talking about some of our best memories of you. You were the best father and grandfather we could have ever asked for and our lives just won’t be the same without you. Thank you, dad, for all you gave to us. You have given me the strength to be a mom even through my tears and heartache. I will love and miss you forever.

I am so sorry for your loss of Leroy. I hope this brings you a little laugh:
I’ve known Lee since I was in elementary school. He worked with my mom (Annette Schroeder)at Anderson’s gorcery store in Isanti. Lee nick-named me George (I don’t know why). One day when I was visiting my mom at the store, he asked me to come over to the meat counter. He said he had to show me something. I was a little wary because he was a prankster, but I walked over there anyway. When I got there, he took a beef tongue and “licked” my cheek with it!
I have enjoyed visiting with him at the meat counter when I come back to Isanti. Isanti Retail meats won’t be the same without Leroy!!
