In Memory of Ronda R. Carlson
Ronda R. Carlson, age 47, of Shoreview died January 26, 2010 unexpectedly. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 30th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Pastor Diane Stores officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Ronda Rae Carlson was born February 11, 1962 in Cambridge, Minnesota. She was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1980. Ronda lived in Chicago and Dallas for several years before returning to Minnesota and making her home in Shoreview. She worked as an event manager at the Orpheum and State Theatres and most recently worked as a hostess at North Oaks Country Club. She also volunteered at an animal shelter where she found and adopted her friend and companion, Mac. Ronda was a true animal lover and she also loved the theatre, arts, movies and books. She also loved to travel, especially to Mexico, Italy, London and the beaches of Florida. Ronda was a generous person and as a donor gave many people a precious gift. She will be dearly missed.
Ronda Carlson passed away January 26, 2010 unexpectedly at Regions Medical Center in St. Paul at the age of 47 years, 11 months and 15 days. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Ward Young and Raymond and Frances Carlson.
She is survived by her mother, Suzie Carlson of Cambridge; father, Dr. Stephen (Carol) Carlson of Webster, South Dakota; brother, Jamie (Pam) Carlson and their children, Jonah and Valerie of Circle Pines; sister, Laura (Scott) Lerner and their children, Kate and Ryan of Montgomery, New York; grandmother, Viola Young of Cambridge; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Ronda’s passing. While our contact has been somewhat limited over the past few years Ronda remained an important presence in my life. This loss will take time to sink in and will be difficult to come to terms with. The news of Ronda’s sudden passing was jolting. She was a very unique, spirited and passionate person and will be deeply missed. I have so many fond memories of my Christmas trips to Cambridge (too many to list) and Ronda was a central to each one. I wish I could be there to share your mourning, because I am mourning for Ronda too. My thoughts are with you.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Ronda’s passing. Over the past months we have truly enjoyed Rhonda’s company and fun conversations. Whether we ran in to her at a mall or while eating dinner, Ronda always took the time to stop and visit with us to catch up. She will be greatly missed.

My most sincere condolences to the family. I’ve known Rhonda since she worked at the Depot. I was shocked to hear the news. I have many happy and fun memories at the Depot with her and also going the Renaissance
Festival, Bette Midler concert and other local events. She was always smiling or laughing. I enjoyed her sparkling spirit. I will miss her.

Dear Suzy, I am so terribly saddened by Rhonda’s death. She and Bambi came out to California to visit me a couple of times and we always had so much fun together – especially our trip to Mexico in ‘85. She was a very vibrant and fun loving person and I am so sorry for your loss. I talked to Karen Hustad tonight and she asked me to pass on “consider yourself hugged from me” and I know Bambi will tell you the same tomorrow. Take good care of yourself and know that people care.
