In Memory of Joseph Harmon, Jr.
Joseph Harmon, Jr, age 46, of Isanti died unexpectedly at home on October 9, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti. Visitation will be one half hour before the service on Thursday at church. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Joseph Anton Harmon, Jr. was born August 27, 1963 in Minneapolis to Joseph and Eileen Harmon. He was raised in the Minneapolis area and graduated from Wayzata High School. Joseph served in the Army from 1983 – 1986. He was in a committed relationship of 20 years and married Elizabeth Ann. They lived in Denver, Colorado and then moved to Becker, Minnesota. In 2004 they moved to Isanti. Joe was employed as an over the road trucker for Magnum Trucking out of Fargo, North Dakota. He loved the road but loved coming home more. He loved playing with his young children. Joe was an avid Viking football fan, loved watching movies and he also enjoyed fishing.
Joe passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 9, 2009 at the age of 46 years, 1 month and 12 days.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann of Isanti and their three children, Joey, Stephanie and Tommy; father and step-mother, Joseph and Barb Harmon of Melbourne, Florida; one brother, Brian (Nellie) Harmon of Okinawa, Japan; three sisters, Laurie Bearden of Blaine, Mary Beth Foresman of Minneapolis, Jessica (Dan) Summers of Rogers; and by many other relatives and friends.

There is a book “When bad things happen to good people” and this is certainly the case. All I can offer you are my prayers that God will give you the strength to deal with everything that he has thrown at you this year. You have three beautiful children, hug them and their love will help you as you face the challenges before you.

Dear Ann and Family – You have never met me, but I have been blessed with the friendship of Joe’s father and stepmother – Barb and Joe. I know the loss of Joe Jr. has broken their hearts and left a void that will take much time to heal. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers as God carries you and the children through this time.
There are no words to say how we feel at this time. We send our love and prayers to Ann,her children, her extended family, my brother Joe and Barb, my neices and all other family members. Taken too soon and so hard to understand. May your faith and memories help you heal in the years ahead. Our God works in strange ways, we must understand his plan for us has meaning. Our prayers of comfort and peace are with Joe Jr’s family – may God embrace you all within his loving arms now and always. I haven’t seen my cousin Joey, (his childhood name), since I was a teenager, however, his memory of kindness and sincerity lingers on.

This loss is very difficult to grasp. Joe Sr and Barb Harmon
Joey is my big brother, growing up he was my best friend, when we had to share a room together,he let me have the top bunk, and let me hang my girly posters on the wall.
I remember joey taking me with to go play flashlight tag, dirt biking, and go to the movies on Sunday, even when his friends wouldn’t want him to bring me, he showed up with me proudly.
Last summer Joey was trying to reconnect with me,I hadn’t talked to him in years, I just wish we were able to see each other again. I wish i would of got to know him again,because I couldn’t of asked for a better big brother. I have his picture on my window sill so every morning when i open the blinds I say good morning to him. I only wish I could say it to him in person.
When Joey called me last summer he was so proud of his job and his children, he went on and on about each one, I feel like I know them, even though the only time I met them was at our mothers funeral.
I am so sorry that his children and wife had to lose him the way they did, I hope that i someday can go visit them and get to know them better.

I think of Joe everyday still. This news shocked me out of no where. I still can’t believe it. I miss Joe.
