In Memory of David Pieper
David Pieper of Mora, formerly of Isanti died at home on August 24, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service.
David Nicholas Pieper was born in Spooner, Minnesota to Francis and Noreen “Dolly” Pieper. He was raised in northern Minnesota. On September 14, 1963 David married Irene Krzyzanowski at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge. David and Irene had five children, Shelly, Rhonda, Rodney, Cindy and Todd. David supported his family with carpentry work and he and Irene raised their family in Isanti. David loved fishing, hunting and golfing. He also liked motorcycles, cars and NASCAR.
David Pieper died August 24, 2009 at his home in Mora at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 7 days. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis.
David is survived by his wife Irene of Mora; five children, Shelly (Rosie) Pieper of North Branch, Rhonda (Harry) Horner of Finlayson, Rodney Pieper of Isanti, Cindy (Todd) Voss of Brook Park, and Todd (Maria) Pieper of Mora; by his mother, Dolly Pieper of Isanti; two brothers, Daniel Pieper of Isanti, and Paul (Michelle) Pieper of Princeton; four sisters, LaVonne Smith of Shoreview, Barbara (Bob) Younts of San Antonio, Texas, Julie (Rick) Magnuson of Ramsey, and Mary Beth Pieper of Isanti; ten grandchildren, Lydia, Joseph, Nichole, Rebecca, Dianne, Christopher, Greggory, Kyle, Kyle A., and Emily; six great-grandchildren, Mathiew, Aurora, Alexzander, Jeremiah, Benjamin and Sadie; by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Uncle Dave was an awesome guy. He touched my life in a very special way.

When I think of Uncle Dave the first thing I think of is an awesome smile. He has the best smile. The next thing that I see my head is a home video from when he was a young man and I believe he is having a snowball fight with his siblings. Everyone is smiling and having a great time.
My Brother Dave was a kind hearted soul beautiful blue eyes with the greatest smile ever! As children we rode bike, fished enjoyed many a spirited tussel.
He was there when for our daughter as she took those first steps, offering a comforting hand should she want it. I wish his family and friends to know just how SUPER special David is to me. I looked forward to each interaction we had as adults and I will miss you S O O O much dear brother! Looking forward to our next hugs! Your SIS

Dave and Irene both were school chums of mine and my sister,Karen. We all shared a lot of fun times and fond memories of CHS. Even as we went out separate ways our paths seem to cross. He was so kind to our Mother, Frances Sperry and we will never forget him or his BIG smile and that sparkle for life, in his eyes. Our deepest Sympathies to his family.

To my dad:
It has been a couple months and I keep thinking things will be getting easier but it has not happened yet. At least not for me. I miss you so much you will never know. I talk to you alot but I am not sure you hear me. I pray to god you do. I wish there was some way I could of helped you. I feel no matter what I did it just wasn’t good enough to make you comfortable and happy. I am sorry I let you down. You will never know how much I loved you and boy do I miss your smiles and hugs. I could really use one of those precious gifts from you. I have so many memories of us laughing, discussing the bible and our many projects for us to get done. Sunday night I was suppose to cut your hair and wash your whites and with the day going the way it did I am sorry I did not get that accomplished for you. The last words we spoke are still in my memory as if it was just yesterday. I want to cry so bad but apparently the lord thinks I am not ready for that yet. I am trying to take care of mom the best I can for you. She is a real trouper. I am sure you already know but she has completed her radiation and Chemo. Monday was her last day of this and now she is on the mends. Her surgery will be in about 4 to 6 weeks and then she should do fine. I know she is angry at you but I know she loves you also. She has a lot of mixed feeling but that is to be expected. Shelly, Rhonda, Rod and myself have been driving mom back and forth to her appointments. You have a great bunch of kids there dad. You should be proud of them. I will try to come back on here and write again. It makes me feel better that there is a possibly that you are watching me right now and you understand and hear what I am saying. I love and miss you with all my heart.
