Shad Atchley, age 29, of Cambridge died June 19, 2009 as a result of a train collision.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 23rd at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Princeton.   A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Monday, June 22nd at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel.  Interment will be in Athens Cemetery in Isanti.

Shad Robert Atchley was born January 25, 1980 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Layn and Sharon (Lyman) Atchley. In 1986 they moved to Aitkin, Minnesota and then in 1987 they moved to Cambridge. Shad attended school in Cambridge. He grew up with his cousins and enjoyed fishing and cutting wood with them. He enjoyed the outdoors and he was a handyman and did many various jobs for many people in the area. Shad just recently purchased a motorcycle and this was a new interest for him. He was employed as a truck driver for B & B Hoffman Sod in Elk River for several years. Shad was dedicated to his family as a protector to them and to many close friends from school. He will be deeply missed.

Shad passed away in Cambridge on June 19, 2009 at the age of 29 years, 4 months and 24 days.  He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ruth Lyman, Ida Lucille Atchley and Jim Atchley; and by a niece, Candyce Nelson.

Shad will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Sharon Atchley of Cambridge; father, Layn (Anne) Atchley of Lake Powell, Utah; 6 sisters, Shawna Atchley of Cambridge, Shavone Atchley (Chris Hart) of Cambridge,, Shawntel (Archie) Erickson of Isanti, Shalea (Mike) Germain of Isanti, Shadow Larson of Cambridge and Sharri (Chris) Kenyon of Milaca; grandfather, James Lyman of Aitkin; 22 ½ nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends; and his loved dog, Taz.
