joel-prigge-obit-photo.jpgJoel Prigge, age 64, of Isanti passed away March 12, 2009 at his home.  A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 15th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel.  A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Saturday, March 14th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel.  Visitation also 1 hour prior to the service Sunday. 

Joel Frederick Prigge was born March 3, 1945 in Minneapolis to Frederick Prigge and Madeline Laughlin. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith, raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Robbinsdale High School, Class of 1963. He then attended Brown Institute. Joel married Bertie Reed on October 26, 1968 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They made their first home in Cedar Rapids. Joel was employed for 33 years as a supervisor engineer for AT&T. His career would move him to several locations, from Cedar Rapids to Davenport, Iowa to Wheatland, Iowa to West Des Moines, Iowa to Olathe, Kansas to Duluth, Georgia and then in 1999 they moved to Isanti. Joel retired from AT&T in 2004. He was a member of The Pioneers. In his young years he was a member of the Order Of The Arrow in Boy Scouts. Since his childhood he had always dreamed of going to Alaska and in 2006 they went for 7 weeks. Joel loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and all of the family activities. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and working on the computer.

Joel passed away at his home of pancreatic cancer on March 12, 2009 at the age of 64 years and 9 days. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick; by two sons, Matt and Joshua Prigge and by one brother, George Julien.

He is survived by his wife, Bertie of Isanti; three daughters, Shannon Sensing of Mounds View, Tracy Haskett of Allen, Texas, Paula Prigge of St. Charles, Missouri; five grandchildren; mother, Madeline Julien of Cambridge; four brothers, Ron Julien of Minneapolis, Bruce Prigge of North Branch, Gene Prigge of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Jimmy Julien of Minneapolis; and by many other relatives and friends.
