Smith, age 58, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, February 21st, at his home in Cambridge.  A memorial  service will be held Tuesday, February 24th, at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel at 7:30 PM with Pastor Bill Berg officiating.  A time of visiting will be held from 4-7:30 PM prior to the service.

Larry Alfred Smith was born December 6, 1950 in Mora, Minnesota to Harry and Florence Smith. He was raised in Spring Lake Park but he spent summers, holidays and many week-ends in Mora at his grandparents and cousins homes. Larry graduated from Spring Lake Park High School, Class of 1968. He attended Anoka Tech from 1968 – 1970 to become a machinist. On June 27, 1970 he married Donna Mart at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora. They lived in the Twin Cities, then Mora and then in 1975 they moved to Cambridge where they have since made their home. Larry was a machinist for 30 years and worked for Onan/Cummins. Larry attended Hennepin Tech from 2002 – 2004 and learned cabinet making. Larry was a member of the Harley Owners Group in St. Cloud. Besides motorcycles his hobbies and interests included 4 wheeling, woodworking, fishing, watching hockey and the local Redbirds baseball team. He also enjoyed krube, westerns and country music.

Larry passed away of cancer at his home on February 21, 2009 at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 15 days.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna of Cambridge; two sons, Tim (Jen) Smith of Cambridge, and Tom (Lisa) Smith of Linwood; one daughter, Tammie (Jonathan) Sharpe of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Gabrielle and Garrett Smith, and Hayden and Erica Sharpe; one sister, LeAnne (Timothy) Tuckinhagen of Barnum; and by other relatives and many friends.
