Tom T. Mix, age 83, of Isanti passed away December 25, 2008 at Cambridge Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 27th at Harvest Christian Center in Isanti with a time for visiting 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Long Lake Community Cemetery.

Tom T. Mix was born March 19, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Ted and Margaret (Burns) Mix.  He was raised and attended school in Minneapolis.  Tom served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army.  On June 2, 1950 he married Delores Harstedt in Minneapolis.  They made their home in Crystal until 1953 when they moved to Isanti. They have lived in Isanti ever since.  

Tom was a jack of all trades and there were very few things he could not fix.  He worked on projects with his children and other family members, passing on his knowledge and experience.  Tom was an exceptionally strong person while also being gentle.  He was a very likeable person and was a father figure to many.  Tom enjoyed woodworking, caring for his grandchildren and he loved to go fishing.  He will be missed dearly and will always be remembered. 

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Delores; four children, Vernon (Beth) Mix of Isanti, Dick (Rhonda) Mix of Nowthen, Rose (Gary) Carpenter of Isanti, and Bob (Bobbi) Mix of Isanti; sister-in-law, Winifred Mix of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Kenneth and Wally.
