In Memory of Georgia L. Olson
Georgia Leigh Olson, age 46, of Isanti passed away October 25, 2008 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 30th at Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel with Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly officiating. A time for visiting will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Georgia Leigh Olson was born August 20, 1962 at Minneapolis, Minnesota to Donald N. and Bette J. (Goss) Olson. She attended Eden Prairie High School and then earned a degree in criminal justice at St. Thomas University. In 1997 she moved to Isanti where she has since made her home. Georgia enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening and her garden gnomes, and she also loved horses. Georgia had a good sense of humor and she loved having fun with her friends and daughter. Georgia loved her daughter dearly and she was the world to her.
Georgia Olson passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at her home at the age of 46 years, 2 months and 5 days.
Georgia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Crystle Olson of Isanti; parents, Donald and Bette Olson of Arizona; brother, Andy Olson and his wife Julie of Florida; two sisters, Tracey Reichow and her husband Rick of California, Holly Foster and her husband Richard of Kansas; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
I am very sorry to hear about Georgia’s passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and especially to Crystle who, I’m sure, is affected deeply. I had heard she was moving to Arizona and was looking forward to seeing her before she left.
We had some very fun times and she helped me through some of my tough times when I needed it. She will be missed.
I am so sorry to hear of Georgia’s passing also, a neighbor told me she had heard of it. Georgia was such a fun person, we enjoyed riding together several times, and had hopes and plans of continuing to do so but jobs, and time took away much of our time together. I only saw her once this past summer, when I was in a parade and she was watching, she looked so good and was so happy to see me. I only wish I’d made more time to see her again, but she will remain in my memory as one of the most adventuresome of riders, willing to go where most would never go! I’ll never forget one time we were riding in Kathio State Forestry, and her horse was more willing than mine to go into a wet area. Oops. Georgia and her white horse came out black with mud! We laughed ourselves silly over the mess, and continued on our merry way. I hope her family will find peace in knowing she lived her life to the most, enjoyed much of it and I believe is in a much happier place now. I look forward to being reunited with her one fine day, and we will carry on riding in places unimaginable! My prayers are with you as I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Crystle, I am sorry about your mom. She will be missed. Her laugh and fun for life will be imprinted in my heart. I will miss the two of you being silly together when coming into the pharmacy. You will still have to do that yourself and teach your boyfriend to be just as silly when he comes in with you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I and many others had the privilege to work with georiga at the juvenile detention center in mpls mn for a few years she was a pure delight for the kids and the staff she made you feel good when you down and the children loved her very much. we will miss you dearly glo.love you for ever.
Georgia will be missed here on earth but its a great comfort to know that my four legged friends will once again share her love in the great beyond. She always had such a connection with them. I hope they surround her with the peace and love she so deserves.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the memorial for Georgia on Thursday. It was a very nice service. I feel blessed to have had a friendship with Glo. She lit up the room when she walked in, loved people and animals more than things and was just a beautiful person inside and out. I remember riding with Georgia and you Crystal when you went out to that place in Plymouth. You two gave me a horse named “Handsome”. A very fitting name for the two of you to name a great big horse with a huge heart. I will never forget the memories.
