In Memory of Jason Wicht
Jason M. Wicht, age 38, of Columbia Heights and formerly of Isanti, passed away Wednesday, October 15th at his parents home after a 20 month battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 18th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti with Father Jose Edayadiyil and Father Richard McGuire as Celebrants. A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the funeral Mass at the church. Pallbearers will be Nathan Bart, Ryan Bart, Ryan Leonard, Steve Schommer, Shannon King and Dave Peltier.
Jason Michael Wicht was born August 21, 1970 in Fridley, Minnesota to Ron and Kathy Wicht. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1988 and attended North Hennepin College. Jason learned to hunt and fish with his father at a very young age and this gave both of them years of joy and stories to last a lifetime. Jason lived in Columbia Heights with his fiancée Paula Lundstrom. He was employed with Lawrence Sign, Inc. for the past 18 years. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #10.
Jason died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at his parents home in Isanti at the age of 38 years, 1 month and 24 days. Jason passed away after a 20 month battle with cancer. He fought this disease with strength, courage, bravery and never a complaint. He was our hero.
He is survived by his fiancée, Paula Lundstrom of Columbia Heights; parents, Ron and Kathy Wicht of Isanti; sister, Talonna (Brad) Chapman and niece Eden of Savage, Minnesota; and by many other relatives and friends.
He was such a wonderful man. Always wanting to include others and make sure that no one felt left out. We worked together only a few short years, but i look back fondly on the time that i got to know him…may he find comfort and peace…may you all as well…
Dear Family of Jason
I did not know Jason but I am a good friend of Talonna’s - so I feel that I know him because of what she has shared with me. My heartfelt condolences for the loss of your precious child, brother and fiance. Mu thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Jason was my beloved cousin and friend. It was great to see all the family and friends at the service. God Bless you all and thank you for your precence. Jason was one of the best of us, and he will be missed more than can be imagined. The memories will never fade, and the stories will never end. His love, compassion, and humor will forever be in our lives. Heaven is a better place with him in it. . . . . and we are better people because of him.
Jason was a great member of SMW Credit Union. I spoke to him often when I was located at the Fridley office. He always spoke of positivity, strength, courage, and determination. He is now and forever will be an angel guiding so many of us along our way of life.
