In Memory of Gary C. Nelson
Gary C. Nelson, age 68, of Oak Grove passed away on September 10, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 15th at Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel with Chaplain Bill Steinke officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in West Oak Grove Cemetery.
Gary Clinton Nelson was born May 6, 1940 in Anoka, Minnesota to Harold and Delores (Freemire) Nelson. He grew up on the family property on the shores of Lake George and graduated from St. Francis High School. Gary worked for over 30 years at Ware Manufacturing in Hopkins. He also helped with the family lakefront property and with renting cabins. He helped many people who were in need of housing, providing them with a place to stay until they could find a permanent place to live. Gary was a giving person who would help anyone in need. He had a passion for baseball and was a coach for several years. Gary also had a good sense of humor and will be missed by many.
Gary Nelson passed away September 10, 2008 at his home at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 4 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Delores, one brother, Donald, and by a baby sister, Bonnie Jean.
He is survived by the Dale Nelson family and “little Terri”, and by many friends.
suds will be missed by me, we ate alot of pizza together or going to the steak house, when you mention food he was willing to go anywhere. i have known suds for about 35 years and i tell ya, you could not meet a nicer guy. he will be missed very much. barbie

Always full of stories, and I’ll always remember his laugh. Suds was always a giving person, even to those that took advantage of that. I remember going with suds on one of his monthly winter rituals, removing all of the electric heaters from the cabins he rented out. I should also add that we smashed them, and left what was left in a pile outside the cabins :) You see, suds paid the elect. but the renters were supposed to supply their own heat! You will be missed, even by those old renters…
