Kim Sue Wanous was born in 1960 to Herbert & Carol Sprandel in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She spent most of her life in the twin cities area and relocated to the Cambridge area in July of 2007.

Kim was an excellent cook and food service was in her blood. She was also an avid gardener and loved canning her all the treasures from her garden or an early morning trip to the Farmer’s Market. Kim was always excited to try a new recipe or spring a new dish on her family. Even though she was an excellent cook she worked most of her life in the fast food business’ mostly the Subway Stores in the Twin Cities Area. Most recently she worked at the Quizno’s in Cambridge. If it involved food Kim was there with a dish in hand.

Kim loved her children with all her heart, and was always excited to see her nieces and nephews. Kim also had a soft spot for the four legged critters and quickly took in any creature her children brought home. Last count was 2 dogs, 5 cats and a new litter of new kittens.

Kim was especially proud and happy of her renewed faith in Jesus and was an active member of Stanchfield Baptist Church. She especially loved cooking for the men’s breakfast group. She also met “the man of her dreams” Gregg Anderson in Cambridge and was very happy with her life in Cambridge.

Kimberly Sue Wanous died peacefully on August 21, 2008 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 48 years, 4 months and 10 days. She was surrounded by Family and friends.  Kim was preceded in death by her parents, a newborn sister, and her grandparents.

Kim is survived by her three children, Andrew Thompson of St. Paul, Emma and Dana Wanous of Cambridge, two brothers, Russ Sprandel (Tim Wells) of Cannon Falls, MN, Corey Sprandel of Cambridge, three sisters, Kelly (Steve) Lange of Roseville, Teri Harvey (LeRoy Benge) of Lacona, Iowa, and Gayle (Pat) Linn of St. Paul. She also is survived by her Nieces and Nephews, Michael, Hannah, and Matthew Sprandel, Michael and Patrick Lange, Nicole (Gary) Holman, Adam, Jessie and William Linn, and Ricky (Jamie) Harvey.
