Ollon D. McCool, age 90, of Cambridge passed away April 23, 2008 at Cambridge Health Care Center.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 28, 2008 at North Isanti Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Larson officiating.  A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service Monday at the church and also from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 27th at Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel.  Interment will be in North Isanti Baptist Cemetery.

Ollon Decatur McCool was born December 20, 1917 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, to William and Bessie McCool.  He was raised in a rural setting with his five brothers and one sister.  After moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico, he met his future wife, Alice Martinez.  They then moved to Washington, D.C. in 1940, where he began a distinguished career as a civilian in the Department of the Army, rising to Chief, Record Management Division, The Adjutant General Office.  He retired in 1972.  He raised his family of five children in the Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C.  Throughout this period he was active in his local church.  After retirement, he constructed a large beach-front house in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, eventually moving to Cambridge, Minnesota.  Ollon enjoyed golfing, vegetable gardening and looking after his Welch Corgis. 

Ollon McCool passed away April 23, 2008 at Cambridge Health Care Center at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 3 days.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; five children, Patricia Greene of Buffalo, New York, Michael McCool of Edgewater, Florida, Melissa (Roger) Deneen of Cambridge, Colleen McCool of Arlington, Virginia, Kevin McCool of Silver Spring, Maryland; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends.
