Hanson, age 89, of East Bethel passed away March 8, 2008 at Birchwood Health Care Center in Forest Lake.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 15th at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in East Bethel with Pastor Brian Fragodt officiating.  A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. 

Synova S. Hanson was born February 25, 1919 at Dawson, Minnesota to Oscar and Ida (Lamberg) Sather.  She was raised and attended school in Clouquet, graduating as Class of 1935 Valedictorian at Clouquet High School.  Synova continued her education at St. Olaf, graduating in 1939.  After college she married Reuben Anderson and one daughter, Lisa, was born to this union.  Synova later went back to school and earned her masters degree.  She worked as a librarian at the Windom school district and later for the Roseville schools.  Synova was a librarian for 43 years, retiring in 1983.  On June 28, 1979 she married Gene Hanson and they made their home in East Bethel.  Synova was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed music, sewing, knitting and especially reading.  

Synova is survived by her loving husband, Gene; daughter, Lisa Ohlgren of Littleton, Colorado; step-son, Thomas (Janet) Hanson of Blaine; step-daughter, Carol (Ed) Sheely of Florida; sister, Jenalda (Roy) Ranum of Silver Bay; brother-in-law, John Dimarchi of New Jersey; by 5 grandchildren, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and by one sister, Ramona Dimarchi.
