Melissa Kay Morey was born January 10, 1975 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids to Bob and Sandie Johnson.  She was raised in Andover until 1990 when her family moved to Isanti.  She attended Anoka High School, was a 1993 graduate of Cambridge-Isanti High School, and a graduate of Cambridge Community College.  Melissa worked with the developmentally disabled at Fawn Lake Group Home in Stacy until her cancer treatment had kept her from working.

Melissa married Wayne A. Morey on May 4, 2002 at Emmanuel Christian Center in Fridley.  The couple lived in Andover before moving to Isanti in 2004.  Melissa was a loving mother to three children, Camerin, Samantha, and Jordan.  She was very friendly and outgoing, and a natural care giver.  She loved being involved in her children’s activities.  She also enjoyed spending time with great friends and family.

Melissa bravely fought a courageous battle against brain cancer for the past six months before the tumor was unstoppable.  On July 18, 2007 Melissa joined Jesus, brother BJ Johnson, “Granny” Ida Johnson, cousin Christina Lahr, and father-in-law Wayne Morey Sr. for a celebration in her eternal home.

Melissa will be forever loved by her husband Wayne, children Camerin, Samantha, and Jordan, parents Bob and Sandie Johnson of Isanti, brother Derek (Amie) Johnson of Princeton, fiance of BJ Fawn Hanson of Isanti, mother-in-law Christy Morey and Dale Newborg of Minneapolis, grandparents Lowell and Eleanor Putnam of Milaca, Herb Johnson of Elbow Lake, and by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
