Eva Steinbring, age 94, of Cambridge and formerly of Isanti passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Cambridge Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 7th at St. John Lutheran Church in Weber.  A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 6th at Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.   

            

     Eva Henrietta Dorothea Boettcher was born May 21, 1912, the third child of William and Sophie Boettcher. She grew up on the family farm east of Blomford and attended the Weber school. At age 13, Eva and her sister Rubie moved to

Cambridge so they could attend high school. After high school she attended one year of teacher training. Her career as a rural school teacher began at age 18. Eva continued her education and eventually graduated with a B.S. degree in education from St. Cloud State College in the 1960’s. Her teaching career spanned several decades with the last 20 years spent at the

Isanti Elementary School.       Eva was baptized, confirmed and married at

St. John Lutheran Church in Weber. Her relationship with God and her church were the foundation of her life. LWML, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School and

Bible School were some of the church activities she enjoyed throughout the years.        Eva married Alton Steinbring on August 25, 1934. They lived on a farm with his parents, Julius and Emma Steinbring in

North Branch Township. In 1941 they purchased a farm near Blomford where they lived for more than 30 years.     Eva retired from teaching in 1974.Travel, the retired teachers Scrabble Club, sewing quilts for missions, her flower garden and doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles were some of her activities. She also enjoyed participating in the Isanti Happy Seniors Club.     In 2001, she was honored by the American Cancer Society for 50 years of volunteer service. Just recently, Eva sold daffodils for their annual fund raiser. Her interest in education continued, as she watched and listened to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s school experiences. And she was a fan of the Minnesota Twins – especially when they were winning.      Eva Steinbring passed away April 4, 2007 at the

; grandson, Matthew; brothers, Lawrence and Aaron; and sister, Marilyn.       Eva will be missed by her children, Shirley (Dale) Diekman of Alexandria, John (Sandra) Steinbring of Anoka, Yvonne Steinbring of Green Valley, Arizona; grandchildren, Paul (Deanna) Diekman of Big Stone City, South Dakota, Rachel (Phil) Reim of  North Oaks, Brian (Michelle) Diekman of Alexandria, Thomas Diekman of Clarkfield, Lisa (Peter) Sorteberg of Anoka, Brad (Denise) Steinbring of Plymouth; great-grandchildren, C.J., Victor and William Reim, Matthew, Jacob and Emma Sorteberg, and Isabella Steinbring; sisters, Rubie Bellin, Alvera Lindstrom and Ione Schlipp all of Cambridge, Marjorie (Ed) Zimmer of Roseville; sister-in-law, Ethel Boettcher of Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews.     “O the sweet joy this sentence gives.
